A lot of folk didn’t seem too pleased when Pendulum brought out “In Silico”. It was apparently the wrong direction or at least a step in the wrong one. Outrage is easily spotted on places like Youtube, users up in arms at material with guitars in, folk knocking their mothers out after they tell them “that’s better son, a bit of guitar”.

New album artwork, nice.

Personally, I bloody loved it. It was something I could listen to again & again and not grow bored of. “Propane Nightmares” got labelled the worst Pendulum track ever. I have a feeling that the label will be thrown at one or two tracks on “Immersion” but still, the smell of folk who want a group to produce the same thing every album was a bit overpowering. I had to therefore blast out “The Other Side” to block them out, in theory.

Immersion is an EP where again they head to grungy plains but also finger the electronic pie so hard it pleases the hardcore. “The Island” is the most intriguing track for me, two parts to it, one very electro, weighs in at 126bpm! Second part arrives and good lord my ears were covered in what I usually cover pictures of Jasmine from Emmerdale in. “Genesis” is a nice introduction to the EP, whilst “Encoder” is an astounding mixture of both 80′s synth & plucks, and modern ambience & percussion. Fucking love it. The more action-packed tracks such as “Salt In The Wounds” and “Witchcraft” make me want to neck cans of lager in the house then head out, aimlessly. “Watercolour”, the first single, does the trick and I also have the deepest feelings for “Set Me On Fire”, the Tune To Mong Out To of 2010 so far.

As a very good man said to me today, it’s like a bonus disc for “In Silico” and caters for all my Wipeout HD custom-soundtrack moments, the pre-nights out, the mental charging for a day ahead. The best reason to physically buy a CD album in a long time. Now excuse my bad bad self whilst I carry out some extreme romance for 67 minutes.

Obsessive behaviour has occured since day one of Dean’s appearance on the internet. After wanting to become the new Alex Pepper, he then latched onto actually becoming me (yes, a strange choice I know), when I was having breaks away from internet affairs. A MySpace page, profiles on DJ portals, MSN Messenger status names, DJ names on radio streams and usernames on forums have all shown Dean taking on my name, even with my personal profile details or pictures being used. I confronted him once on a site he did this kinda thing on, Music-Driveby and was asked why this was happening, but good god his response was both comical and disastrous. He got his account name “proxi” changed to his own name in a “shit-myself” moment, then my username changed to proxi, with help from the site’s owners, bless them, they didn’t know about him. Or the real him. I suspect no-one does, except for his hand who has a great view of the pile of photos of me and numerous copies of Playgirl. Following the username change, and my rant infront of the members who could read it, the site “mysteriously” went down, he told the owners that I hacked it, and banned I most definitely was. Didn’t take much sorting out though thankfully, the owners weren’t thick and actually made fun of him when apologizing for the error. The mystery site downtime was never explained, as there was just no clues at all of course… Yeah..

Linking up with what I posted earlier regarding hiding himself, I would like to say what I said in my rant to him on MD. I for no reason wanted to know about all his tricks but since I saw him sign in as me on MSN over 2 years back, it’s fucking haunted me. Why sign up as me on forums for example, even on sites where he sends invites to me to join. Why take my DJing alias I’ve had for the past 5 and half years? Why do the MySpace? The Skype? Whatever else too, it is bloody freaky. It isn’t hard being yourself, and in future with his own names, ideas, thoughts… I could actually take this post down for fuck’s sake. He need not be scared to show his true self instead of hiding behind others, as if he’s a hermaphrodite then we’ll accept it, everyone’s different. He can announce homosexuality. It’s a common thing in today’s society. But please, I do not want to be the Stewart Lubbock to his Michael Barrymore….

However, to this day, Dean Hodgson continues to push forward in his plans to avoid his personal inner traumas and realizations, by becoming other people in more ways than before. Improving his ability to mix trance and progressive music records more seamlessly in the Mixmeister software used is an ongoing battle but eventual achievement. Current sample of seamless mixing.

If ever there was a time to feel threatened, this would be it for me.

However, I’m not talking about mixing, tune selection or charisma. All that stuff doesn’t bother me. However when someone makes it pretty clear by actions alone that they would like to pierce your arse with their baby wand, you do tend to get the feeling that “backs to the wall” could be a worthwhile exercise. Especially when that someone is clearly unaware to their dementia and cannot let go of something he’s never had, and never will get. I’m sorry. I don’t take it up the trumper Dean. Except for when the missus is PMT’ing and needs to thrash her anger out….

When having the originality depth of a slice of cheese, it seems you find yourself drifting away from your own personal character, your individuality is cloaked by the illusion of being someone else, and it covers your deep down feelings and thoughts. So when Dean Hodgson (or DJ Deano, or Vip3r^) spends his “online career” imitating others recreating their work as his, and even pretending to be them, it makes me think, what is there to be hidden by the boy?

Maybe this is down to the lad suffering from certain conditions. When I think a little deeper about his behaviour towards me & others for the past 3 years or so, you have to consider Oppositional Defiant Disorder, Dissociative Identity Disorder and Obsessive Compulsive Personality Disorder. His one-way trip down the crazy path consists of more copying, more stealing, more sneaking, more denial. Of course, it’s not my place to diagnose him with one of these mind-numbing mental disorders. I’d instead like to guess he’s got all three!

Every radio station he has become a DJ staff member of, it has had to close it’s doors for good in the following weeks or months. With the exceptions of a school radio “career”, and his one-off four-track guest mix at DanceRadio.gr. Both these companies still operate, due to Hodgson’s friend and mentor DJ Rankin travelling down from Scotland to claim his slot at the school. DanceRadio had enough coding protection to halt any hacking from Hodgson, who had been suspected by our staff team of carrying out similar actions at my old site Digital-Angels.co.uk (formerly Tuna-Pie.com). Dean’s shows on station so far are either described as POPULAR & WONDERFUL. Which brings the next paragraph here to light.

Dean’s radio shows, websites and slogans all have a familiar feel to them. “Where have I seen that before?” is a common thought amongst the people I know who’ve had the pleasure of landing on his online doorstep. Without intentionally trying to look unoriginal, Dean at least shows some unique ability with the way he manages to consistently performs actions of both strange and bizarre purpose.

The most common people looked to for Dean Hodgson are Yorkshire radio DJ legend Alex Pepper, and myself, a former admin of various sites Dean visited and often trashed. Phrases such as “Trancemaster XXL” and “the freshest music, the biggest classics” were taken from Pepper’s then-successful Floorfillers Radio site, and added by Dean onto his webpage for the on-demand SHOUTcast stream he provided from his parent’s home, and also added to various forum accounts in an attempt to boost credibility. Pepper was approached by a user of his forum (I didn’t even have to say it, and I was already suspicious!) who noticed the strange behaviour and this led to Dean being the subject of heckling for weeks to come on the Floorfillers Radio chatroom. Since 2007, Hodgson has blatantly copied a 2005-born trance mix series by myself, even passing it off several times as his own in a self-created description of himself.

‘Dean has been very passionate about trance music ever since he was a little kid. Dean grew to love his music and that’s when he decided to launch his own Internet radio show. This is when the wonderful “Trancing It Up” radio show was created.’

There’s a really obvious “race” going on too, with his weekly versions of the show meaning his episode count is stacking up quickly. When he overtakes my episode count soon I expect an announcement…. God.

Various web forums have suffered over the past few years, with Dean intentionally trying to prise members away. Xtreme-Mp3s has had it’s slogan stolen, with itself, Digital-Angels, Dance-Empire all been imitated sometimes even word for word, category for category. Following my creation of a blog for the TIU mixes, Hodgson created one for his version of my series, making it’s appearance online in the last few months. Dean has now followed another dream of being the people he imitates, following the purchase of Tuna-Pie.com after it became available following his DJ stint which put the former forum on the road to closure (See paragraph 4). Dean has created a new version of the site, however merging styles from the old Tuna-Pie, Digital-Angels, Clubberz-Paradise, Dance-Empire and Xtreme-Mp3s, in a typical get-popular-quick method regularly used by the 18 year old and also many 12 year old net whizzkids / big-headed little shits.

Continue to the second part…

I’ve been watching the whole of Hell’s Kitchen USA Seasons 2 & 4 recently with the missus and while the putdowns and the drama is perfect viewing, I got extremely peeved at the sight of a certain troublemaker in each of the 2 series we watched. Whilst thinking “fuck me, she has to go this week” or “jesus she’s terrible I can’t even listen to her whinging voice”, I’ve also realised that when the baddies leave, the highly worshippable Gordon Ramsay has less scope for his degrading yet highly watchable putdowns. In Season 2, Garrett left midway through which I thought was great but I quickly missed “We can’t serve any more food Garrett… GARRETT.. unless we taste… TASTE…. TASSSSTTTEEEEE!” and “the chicken is RAW, you trying to kill someone?”. In Season 4 the cunt of the season was no doubt Jen, she was an all-singing all dancing fucking hippopotamus who broke her own illusion she was the best by far by failing spectacularly in team-play and Ramsay constantly calling her a “useless bitch” and announcing to the rest of the chefs, “look! look at her, the slow useless cow” before imitating her slobby performance. But when she left the watchability suffered a little.

However, by far the best putdowns to a known cunt so far has to be those given to the woman who has now officially been crowned Cunt With The Most Annoying Voice Since Nikki Grahame. Yes, it’s Sara. Loved herself and clearly caused shit for others before turning away to a camera in the corner grinning like Bin Laden on Microsoft Flight Simulator. Ramsay took it up a notch with her, labelling her a “fat mouthed little cow”, screaming at her to clean her glasses and then completely losing pitch as shown in the video at the bottom

I absolutely love the show, and upon hearing there’ll be more seasons to come I hope they find the right balance still for bringing in competitive, brash contestants and not making the show completely unrealistic.

I cannot get enough of the man Chris Kamara, he is a magnificent specimen of flawed human DNA. And when people take the piss out of him I can only feel utter hatred and shock. He is the most perfect presenter on television in the 21st century even better than John “Batteries Dying” Barnes. Being such a talented soul, he needs to be respected by not just the general public but the robbing bastards at Buckingham Palace. Show support by visiting the below beautiful tribute to the man Kammy, and hopefully joining the petition for his MBE.
