About Us
The Sweaty Bastards are two UK-based trance DJ’s, Darran Bartley & Proxi. They host a monthly radio show called “Bedtime Stories” on two popular radio streams (see Radio page). Mixing an hour each, the show is a journey through melodic, transcendent bedtime listening. It has already grown a steady fanbase both at the broadcasts and through downloads.
Away from this, Proxi presents “Trancing It Up”, a 2 hour fairytale trance monthly mix series which is broadcast on two radio stations (again see Radio page) and is still going strong since it emerged in the autumn of 2005. Darran Bartley also provides a bi-monthly one-hour show “Reverie”, which is also his debut production alias. Passionate, vivid and direct sum the show up as much as it’s DJ!
Proxi
Yorkshire born & bred. Grew up in a family of rock lovers, and still appreciates the genre as much as trance. Classes a compilation album “Meltdown 2000″ as the 2 hours of his life that made him know he’d be following electronic music like a soulmate. Owned decks since 2003 and never looked back. Producing his own tracks very soon, when not spending time with his fiancee & son.
Major influences musically include Ferry Corsten, Vincent De Moor, Wandii, The Thrillseekers and also artists such as William Orbit, Pendulum, Hans Zimmer, Danny Elfman, Akira Yamaoka.
LOST plays a big part for Proxi too, a massive fan of the show. Also the magic of Doctor Who regularly takes over and finally he has no shame in declaring love for muck-swilling pint-downing whore-village Emmerdale.
