Bedtime Stories 020 (September 2010)

As I recover from an impromptu decision to watch Conan the Barbarian at 1am last night, I’ve realized that wasn’t the best way to get ready for sleep. Arnie’s sword skills and lamentation of the women may be heroic, but they don’t calm anyone down unless you eat members of the Snake Cult for breakfast.

For those of you who settled down with trance, you may be interested to hear that our first original Sweaty Bastards track was aired last night – Beach Comber. A combination of summer vibes & acid power, this is the start for homemade tunies! More importantly in the mix last night was a slightly slower, much more melodic set of tracks that we feel should be he default tone for Bedtime Stories. Less euphoric and more soothing, and with tunes like “Reachers Of Civilization” and “Touchstone” you get a night’s worth of dreaming in each breakdown.

A live score of “Amy” from the Doctor Who Proms kicked off the set, a concert I believe anyone who loves trance, classical and / or classical trance, should check out. It’s on BBC3 on the 12th of September at 7.30pm. Moist, emotional deliveries of already beautiful tracks from the show.

Haven’t got a specific tune of the mix from us both, but the bootleg of the month surely has to Ben Double M’s mashup of Massive Attack & Waterspark, the vocals are just terrific, it creates an extra sweet tone to the track.
