Bedtime Stories 019 (August 2010)
After much trouser-soaking action in the chatroom, I’m retiring to the drawing room to smoke a kipper!
Was a pleasure to follow on from Darran’s beautiful first hour, some corking tracks in there that I’d lined up for my hour if he’d planned to leave them out (Dammit!). Roger Shah’s amazing “Over & Over” is a perfect anthem, it has the makings of a top ten of 2010 track. Vanilla by Tydi is remixed to genius status by Ben Gold, beeping it’s way to fuck like Stephen Hawking through a supermarket checkout.
My hour consisted of the most uplifting set of tunes I’ve played in a while for BS. Constant amazement at some of the recent releases, I couldn’t help put glue them in place here. “Energy Of The Sea” is a hidden gem, ReOrder’s “Biscay Bay” coated in Ferry Tayle’s frothy tail equals win and the classic of the month compliments the opening tune of the mix, a Sweaty Bastards rehash of another old favourite.
